We are situated in beautiful & peaceful countryside the wildlife is a joy to watch
Great Crested Grebes. Marsh Harrier flying over the Inn
Barn Owls hunting in the evening or flying alongside your car in daylight
Swans with their Cygnets. The Moorhens & Coots are a little shy but the ducks will come from no-where for a morsel of bread.
Plus the fisherman's least favorite - the Cormorant!
You can also enjoy fishing, boating, walking, bird-watching or just sitting watching the world go by!
The open countryside and the banks of the river witham offer miles and miles for walkers. We have some maps available in the bar.
Lincoln is very 'cycle friendly'. There are lots of cycle tracks around here - and no steep hills!!!!
Metheringham village, or Meg to the locals is about 6 miles from us and a lovely walk or cycle on a sunny day. Pay a visit to the Auction rooms on the trading estate just past the train station and pick up a bargain. The Co-op in Meg stocks pretty much everything you may need and is open late most nights.
Dunston village is very pretty - but no shops of any kind, just lots of cute houses, spot the signs on their fronts to see what they were in a previous life!! The fen roads changes with the seasons but is always full of colour, especially in the spring when the daffs and tulips are in bloom. The fen boasts that it the largest grower of daffs in the country.
